Blogjune to blog or not to blog that is the question...
After getting Library Whisperers off the ground, I realised that blogging is not my thing. Thank goodness for the wonderful people that continue to contribute here, especially Glenn and Kat. Don’t get me wrong. I have the plenty of ideas about what to write but I am lacking discipline and motivation. Writing is hard work. It is not for everyone. I hope that I get my mojo back, if you find it please send it home.
I love podcasts and audio books but it takes a different kind of energy to write and read. I read a lot for study and work but less for leisure these days. Unless it is short. Comics and reference books are my main stay. I still buy lots of books and borrow things I will never get around to reading. I have a piles of unread books all over the house. If I do get engrossed in a book, it is usually when I am holiday, otherwise I dip in and out. I love to buy, give, lend and own books. I feel like a bad librarian because I don’t read more… and to write, you need to read. But I am not going dwell.
This month, I have promised the Library Planet folk Chris and Marie a post about Tūranga which I hope to get written soon. I have been writing a lot for work… but it is a different kind of beast. The questions I have been asking myself are:
what value does it add to the GLAMR sector?
I don’t have the answers yet. My partner and I have been talking about a podcast…. but it will have nothing to do with libraries. It will be about relationships and the stuff that makes us laugh! Below are some of my favourite photos from my recent trip to Christchurch.
